What You'll Do:

Welcome Week is the first moment that thousands of new students arrive at Surrey. With lots of luggage, teary goodbyes, and a lot of nerves, those first few hours can feel overwhelming.  That's why Your Union needs friendly and welcoming volunteers to be there with a warm smile and a helping hand.

As a Freshers' Angel, you'll be dotted around our Stag Hill and Manor Park campuses to bring some positive energy, greet new faces, help students find their way, and make sure they feel supported as they settle in.

Remember the warm welcome you received by our lovely Freshers' Angels when you first arrived at Surrey? Join Your Union as a Freshers' Angel and help other students feel the same sense of belonging in our Surrey Community.

• Friday 18 September – Volunteer Briefing 
• Saturday 19 September – Welcome Weekend 9:00 to 17:00
• Sunday 20 September – Welcome Weekend 10:00 to 16:00

We will accept volunteers who can only make one day if you are not able to do the whole weekend.

There are also some other opportunities during the week to help out a little bit extra during our Welcome Week activities, including campus tours and helping new students find their way around! Sign up even if you can't commit to the full weekend!

What we'll give you for your help: 

• A free Freshers' Week wristband to Rubix (only for full weekend volunteers)
• A Thank-You party in October
• Free T-shirt and more merch
• Free breakfast and hot lunch during your shift

What We're Looking For: 

We're looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and outgoing students who are passionate about Surrey, and excited to help give our new students a warm welcome!
