Tuesday 5 May
Speak Week took place from Monday 27 April- Friday 1 May, providing students across campus the chance to share their views on the University and Union. Throughout this week, students submitted suggestions through ballot boxes, our online form and at our Speak Week stalls.
This campaign featured our Outreach Stalls supported by our Union Officers and wider team, where over 774 cupcakes were given out to students who completed the submission form. We also had a great turn out to Student Voice Forum, where 37 questions were raised and escalated directly to senior University staff in attendance- all of which will receive answers from the team. We also had 5 focus groups and even had time for a Course Rep social where 25 large pizzas were ordered and eaten. Although we are still finalising numbers, we estimate that over 1.2k change suggestions have been submitted- almost doubling our November Speak Week and nearing our all time record number of responses. Thank you to all those who took part and had their say!
Luana, VP Voice 2024-2026
Ideas, thoughts and feedback gathered through our Speak Week Campaign are collated and shared across the Union and University- resulting in escalation of concerns, awareness of issues and guidance for teams in shaping their upcoming plans. Every suggestion matters.
