LGBT+ Society
A diverse and inclusive social society for LGBTQ+ students at Surrey!
We're the University of Surrey's LGBT+ society!
As a society, our main aims are to provide a Safe and Social space for Queer Students at the University, where we get to uplift and support one another.
We host:
- Weekly main sessions on Mondays.
- In our main Monday sessions, we do a variety of organised events - including limited to board games, powerpoint nights, arts and crafts, and more. We also host Educational Seminars about LGBTQ+ identities in those sessions in line with the associated days.
- Weekly trans support sessions on Wednesdays.
- In our weekly run Trans Sessions, the aims of those sessions are to encourage discussions and offer support to one another.
- Social Scheduled Sessions.
- As a Society, we also run additional sessions alongside our weekly monday and wednesday ones. These include (but not limited to): Movie Nights, Club Nights (in Rubix and/or the Student Union Basment), and Picnics.
We want to make sure that queer students have a space they can turn to where they will feel welcome and proud to be who they are.
